Stewardship

How we live as Orthodox Christians is defined through our Stewardship to the Church, Diocese and community! What are the "works" that identify us as Orthodox Christians - how do we accomplish this through our God given Time,Talents & Treasures?

An Orthodox Christian Steward is an active participant in the life of the Church. The parish encourages all who accept the Orthodox Faith to become practicing Stewards. Each year the Steward is expected to carefully review his or her personal circumstances and make a commitment of Time, Talent, and Treasure to support the Parish and her Ministries, which in turn support the National Ministries of our Archdiocese, Metropolises, and institutions.

Think in terms of 1 Corthinians 12: 1-6 and how our "works" are defined!

Diverse gifts - with the same Spirit
Different ministries - through the same Lord
Diverse activities - with the same God who works in all

Effective Stewardship ministry is not a single event or project. Rather, it is going out to our people wherever they are in their walk with Christ, listening to their concerns, helping them to realize their importance as branches of the True Vine and encouraging them to offer their gifts in His service. These gifts are varied, yet related to Stewardship as they are completed to the Glory of God!

These resources will help the Clergy and Stewardship Committees enhance the understanding of Stewardship within the parish. The materials may be reproduced, altered and used within your Church.

We are also available to answer questions, provide support, meet with parish Stewardship Committees and complete on-site parish presentations.
