Serbian Patriarch Irinej Arrived in New York

After his visit to Washington D.C., His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej arrived in New York City on March 3, 2020.

Out of his great concern for the restoration of St. Sava Cathedral in New York and sharing in the pain of the faithful, Serbian Patriarch Irinej headed to the construction site early in the morning. His feelings were mixed. Joy in seeing the progress on the reconstruction project, but also sadness over the temptations facing the Serbian community of Saint Sava and parish in New York.

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej and  Bishop of Sumadia Jovan of Sumadija were welcomed by the host hierarch Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, Protopresbyter-Stavrophor Zivojin Jakovljevic, the cathedral dean, members of the Church Trusteeship and architect Don Zivkovic.
