Patriarch Irinej Visited the Atlantic Council in Washington

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej visited the Atlantic Council in Washington on March 3, 2020.

His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch was welcomed by the Ambassador of the Atlantic Council Daniel Fried with associates, Mr. John Herbst and Damir Marusic. Patriarch Irinej was welcomed by Mr. Fried who expressed his joy over the visit, which strengthens co-operation with Serbia. His Holiness the Patriarch outlined the position of the Serbian Orthodox Church on various topics related to the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Ambassador Fried thanked Patriarch Irinej for his visit, emphasizing the importance of Serbia's potential, as Serbia is a natural leader in the region and an inevitable part of Europe as a whole.

Participating and attending the meeting were His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija, member of the Holy Synod of Bishops, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America, Protonamesnik Dr. Vasilije Vranic, dean of the St. Luke Serbian Orthodox Church in Washington and Protodeacon Damjan Bozic.
