CHURCH SLAVA IN HAMILTON

On December 18, 2016 the St. Nicholas Church in Hamilton celebrated their Church Slava with the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy officiated by His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of Canada, with the concelebration of V. Rev. Stevan Stojsavljevic, V. Rev. Djuro Samac and V. Rev. Voja Pavlovic. The Stevan Mokranjac Choir, directed by Desa Gusa, sang the responses at the liturgy.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, the bishop gave an inspiring homily on the gospel read on this 26th Sunday after Pentecost.

In the church hall, Bishop Mitrophan blessed the Slava kolach and zito. This year's kumovi were Daniel, Katarina and Nikola Radojevic. Dusko and Jadranka Surla accepted to be kumovi for next year's celebration. Prota Voja and Bishop Mitrophan greeted everyone present at the celebration and all were grateful to Milka Culic and the members of the KSS who prepared the Slava luncheon and gave a check of $25,000 to the church on the occasion of their chuch Slava.
