DIVINE LITURGY AT SERBIAN CATHEDRAL IN CHICAGO
Chicago, IL - Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Chicago is pleased to announce that the Hierarchs of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America, who head the dioceses of all canonical Orthodox Christian jurisdictions on this continent, will celebrate the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at our Cathedral on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, the Feast of the Beheading of the Glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist St. John, at the invitation of His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America. The Hierarchical Divine Liturgy will begin at 9 A.M"We have the joy to welcome our brother hierarchs from throughout this country to our Diocese and Cathedral for this liturgical celebration which is a testimony of our Eucharistic unity as we deliberate, guided by the Holy Spirit, on our ministry and stewardship of the Lord's Vineyard which has been planted and which grows in America," said His Grace Bishop Longin.
The Liturgical celebration at Holy Resurrection Cathedral is being held on occasion of the 3rd annual meeting of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America convened under the Chairmanship of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. A session of the meeting discussing the work of the Committee for Regional Canonical Planning, and a lenten luncheon honoring the 64 visiting bishops, will also be held at the Cathedral following the Divine Liturgy.
