ALEKSANDR SOLZHENITSYN FROM

TO THE FAMILY OF
ALEKSANDR ISAEVICH SOLZHENITSYN
MOSCOW
On behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Pavle of Serbia and the Holy Synod of the Serbian Orthodox Church, as well as all of the Serbian Orthodox people, please accept our deepest condolences on the occasion of the passing away of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn of blessed memory. He was a man through whom millions of suffering people expressed themselves, who through his own life and his work became and remained a living witness of the living God, God's and human truth and justice and his memory remains written in irremovable letters with not only the Russian people but in the memory of all of mankind – but what is most important: written in God's Book of everlasting life.
The Serbian Orthodox Church, with it's highest award, the Order of St. Sava the Enlightener, expressed her gratitude to the newly departed Solzhenitsyn for his self-sacrificing witness of God's truth of the invincibility of the good and sanctity in all men.
We pray to the Lord that He grant eternal rest to His servant Aleksandr in the place where the light of the Face of Christ our God and Savior shines.
