Seattle, WA - As in every year, St. Sava Church in Issaquah, WA celebrated Serbian Days in commemoration of the consecration of the church.  This year we were blessed to have His Grace, Bishop Maxim join us.  His Grace celebrated the Divine Liturgy at our sister church The Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God  (Pokrov) Church in Seattle on July 28 along with concelebrants Fr. Serafim Gascoigne, parish priest, Fr. Ilija Balach of St. Sava Church and Fr. In the afternoon, activities began at St. Sava with soccer games and other activities along with being entertained by the ‘Tri Šeširi Orchestra’.  Later in the day the younger and older folklore groups, Vuk Karađic, from Vancouver, B.C. danced a number of dances to everyone’s delight.  Following the program Vespers were served and festivities continued afterwards. On Sunday, June 29 His Grace was greeted in front of the church by Frs. Ilija and Serafim along with servers and parishioners from both parishes.  After His Grace vested he tonsured Radoje Spasojevic as a reader.  Radoje grew up in this parish and he and his family have always been active in the life of the church.  He is currently the First Vice-president of the Church Board. The Divine Liturgy was followed by a delicious lunch prepared by the KSS.  St. Sava younger and older folklore groups ‘Drina’ entertained everyone with a number of dances.  Everyone expressed their gratitude to His Grace for his visitation and words of wisdom as he departed.
